The Whimsical World of Pocket Dragons was created and designed by Real Musgrave. The story of the Pocket Dragon goes back to a limited set of black and white drawings done by Real Musgrave in the mid-1970s, depicting a small dragon in the pocket of a tweed sport jacket. These figurines, produced in Stoke-on-Trent, England, went on sale in June 1989. In 1998 the cartoon series "Pocket Dragon Adventures" ran for fifty-two episodes, based on the Pocket Dragon character created by Real. Real and his wife Muff retired at the end of 2006, which included the Pocket Dragon collection.
